This restaurant has great parking. It's plentiful and safe on their own property, which is a huge plus.
Their food and selection is great! The reason for the 4-star rating is because that lack air-conditioning in this enclosed restaurant. They do have air conditioners, but they are rarely on and even they are, there aren't enough in there to cool the restaurant properly. -

Tried this place for the first time yesterday- great experience! The food was a 4/5 (high marks for Hilo, I've never had 5/5 food at any restaurant on the island), and the service was spectacular!! Very attentive and polite staff, and they pointed us in the right direction when we couldn't decide.
We had egg rolls, crispy roast pork belly, bun thit nuong, and Chinese beef stew with egg noodles. The egg rolls were hot, fresh out of the fryer and you could tell from the shape they were made on-house. That part made me very happy but there was a hint of old Chinese food fryer oil that slightly detracted from the experience. The bun Thit nuong was quite good! The crispy roast pork belly was great- the skin is always my favorite part, and it's really a preference issue- I prefer my crispy skin dense, the kind that sticks your teeth together. Theirs is more on the puffy side, like a chicharron, but no complaints here, it was really good. The accompanying sauce was slightly odd, tasted like it maybe had a hint of maple syrup in it? I ate it though, and I'd eat it again! The Chinese beef stew was also quite good, the only comment I have is that I prefer slightly fattier cuts of beef for a stew as they tend to stay more moist. The cubes of beef in the stew were very lean, but they were tender!
This review probably sounds nit-picky, but it's because everything was so good that it warranted analysis! I don't write yelp reviews often because I really need to feel inspired by what I ate in order to put in the work of reviewing. I'll definitely be returning soon. -

Great place for vietnames/chinese foods in Hilo, Hawaii. Surprised there is such a good place for Vietnamese foods. All the dishes we ordered tasted delicious. Just the service is slow, because there is only 1guy in the front and he tried really hard.

My husband and I came here and ordered Bun Bo Hue( Beef spicy noodles soup ), Bun Thit Nuong ( grilled pork and egg roll ) and Papaya salad. Everything is very tasty but they forgot vegetables come along with my soup.
It's cheap and good taste. If you are looking for a cheap place and good quality, I suggest this place. -

This was arguably the best Vietnamese food we've had in a long time. We found the place when browsing for places to eat after a long day at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and called them ahead of time with our ETA. Our table was ready and waiting for us with 4 glasses of ice water. Don't let the simple exterior and interior fool you. The food is authentic, very flavorful, and piping hot. The portions are very generous. No alcohol is served here and drink menu is limited. But with meals like this we didn't miss it at all. We (family of 4) loved everything. We've been to much more expensive dining places in HI and both our kids called this their favorite!
